This is the theme song from a "Folk Opera" by Reed Owen, Professor of Composition at U of Michigan. It has made the round in High School and College Choirs in SATB format. The 4-part a cappella captures it pretty well. It's evocative melody is similar to Shenandoah. The harmonies move in 3rds. It's quite different.
